St. Thomas More Catholic Community is a large and culturally
diverse Roman Catholic Parish of The Diocese of Galveston-Houston located
in southwest Houston. St. Thomas More Catholic School (K-8) is fully accredited
and nationally recognized. We have a large Syro-Malabar Rite Community,
a Knanayan mission with resident priests of that Eastern Rite.
There are over 90 different ministries, groups, and organizations
to serve our parish and the community.

St. Thomas More offers a wide variety of activity promoting the spiritual welfare and growth of all its members. Preparation for all sacraments. 24-hour, Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the Chapel has been ongoing for over 18 years. Men's and Women's annual retreats. Parish missions and periods of reflection. Marian activities. Apostleship of the Cross. Family Prayer Ministry. Prayer and support for Religious Vocations. Legion of Mary. Activities to foster vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Marriage Encounter, Engaged Couple's Encounter support. Evangelization activities for the whole family. Outreach to fallen-away Catholics. Day and evening Bible Study Programs. Pro-Life activities. Charismatic religious activities and Mass. Religious education. Rite of Christian Initiation for adults (RCIA) and children; for those wishing to become Catholics or returning to the Faith.
A variety of educational opportunities abound for all ages. St. Thomas More has an accredited, nationally recognized, Catholic School grades K-8. Visit the school's webpage at www.STMorenews.com. Bible Study (day and evening). Marriage preparation. Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Sea Scouts have a section accessed from the home page. Girl Scouts have several units of different ages within the parish. Baptism preparation for parents of infants to be baptized. Confirmation preparation program. Special seminars, workshops, and courses offered throughout the year on a variety of topics.
The community provides a variety of service groups to address many needs. The St. Vincent de Paul Society provides food assistance without cost from our food pantry. We participate in the Blood Drive Program. The STM Gabriel project provides counselling and support for pregnant women and and sponsors many Pro-Life activities. The Aid to the Sick Team assists members who need short term help due to illness. The Funeral Aid Committee helps families during the time immediately after a death in planning and conducting all aspects of the funeral. The Bereavement Team provides one-on-one and group support directly to children and adults during the grieving period after a loss. The Support Team offers a variety of assistance including rides, baby and house sitting, elderly companionship, etc. Eucharistic Ministers serve at Masses and bring the Holy Eucharist to the sick. The Knights of Columbus sponsor activities that benefit the parish in many ways. Lectors read scripture during the Mass. Ushers, Boy and Girl Alter Servers, Altar Society. Several choirs provide inspirational music and song at many events. Many on-going committees (building and grounds, financial, liturgy planning, etc.) exist to contribute to the almost endless number of activities, events, and ways to serve.
The parish family provides social activities for its members through collective and individual interest groups: Dances, Pancake Breakfast, Pot Luck Dinners, Oktoberfest, Bazaar, Family Picnics, Bridge Club, Group Travel, Seniors club (50+)(STreaMliners) and many, many more.
